Mid-morning smoko, east of Albany
Braving the Valley of the Giants tree top walk
Beers on the beach for Australia Day
Albany, Australia – We’re on the south coast for a few days, staying with friends who moved down here a couple of years ago.
I like it here. Albany is a decent, honest Aussie town. Wide streets and neat houses. A working port. The surrounding countryside full of livestock and crops give it a down to earth, working-class vibe.
We’ve had beers on the beach to celebrate Australia Day, cranked up the four-burner, dropped in on a friend making a go of it in the restaurant trade and I’ve unsteadily traversed the tree top walk a the Valley of the Giants. What fear of heights?
Today we head back up to Perth and the day after that, Queensland!
