Stockholm, Sweden, at midnight

Taking photos is one of my favourite activities while travelling. It motivates me to get up early for sunrises and to stick around for the sunsets. Sometimes I find it even takes me into hairy or uncomfortable situations I normally wouldn’t go to. Like central London on a Saturday night.

My photos on the web
In addition to the photos on this blog, I use Flickr to host larger photo galleries.

If you’re looking to purchase images for commerical use, check out my Alamy page.

Equipment
Initially all photos on Backpack Storybook were taken with a Nikon D70s. However, the sensor burnt out and so around mid 2007 I upgraded to a Nikon D80.

I use the following:

  • Nikkor 18-70mm f3.5-4.5
  • Nikkor 50mm f1.8
  • Nikkor 70-210mm f4.5-5.6
  • Nikon SB 800 flash

I usually shoot in RAW mode and process the files on my Asus laptop using Adobe Lightroom 1.3, which has got to be one of the best photo tools around.
